RECURRENT MISCARRIAGE
Recurrent miscarriage and infertility are a problem, which may result from a primary thrombophilic disorder in as many as 50% of cases. As an adjunct to evaluation by gynecologists and reproductive specialists, testing for thrombophilia has become a key aspect of the diagnostic work-up. Identification for the responsible defect of blood coagulation proteins and/or platelets may lead to specific and highly effective therapy. In come studies adapting this multidisciplinary approach to evaluation and treatment has resulted in a rate of successful pregnancy of over 90%.
